Please call BCI Detectives at (401) 827-9010 to arrange for an appointment to have your fingerprints done for employment or background checks. Appointments are made for weekdays and evenings to accommodate your schedule. If when you call you do not reach anyone, please leave a detailed message and a BCI detective will call you back as soon as possible. Please note, fingerprints and background checks are done for West Warwick residents ONLY.

There is a $50.00 fee for Prints and FBI/BCI Submission for background checks for School Employees, Mental Health Facilitators, Message Therapists, and all Adoptions.
There is a $10.00 fee for Print Cards only (no FBI/BCI submissions).
There is no fee for Foster Care, Daycare, All child Care Employees and Town Pistol Permit Applications.
NOTE:The following list of fingerprint categories are the only catagories that the West Warwick Police Department are able to accommodate (all other categories are to be completed by the RI Department of Attorney General with the exception of Lottery Employment and Vendors who can respond to the RI State Police):
Special Note: Employment Applicants MUST provide a conditional letter of employment from their expected employer. Also, all person seeking to be fingerprinted must sign an "Agency Privacy Requirements for Non-Criminal Justice Applicants" form prior to being fingerprinted.
Municipal Court Appearance
Municipal Court is in session on Thursday evenings starting at 5 PM. Court is held at the West Warwick Town Hall, Council Chambers, 1170 Main Street, West Warwick. Only summons that show West Warwick Municipal Court as the court of jurisdiciton can be heard here.
If you have received a summons and the summons indicates that you may pay by mail, you may send a check or money order to the address provided. If you wish to contest your citation, you must appear at the West Warwick Municipal Court on the date listed in the summons.
If you plan to use the "Good Driver's Statute" as a defense in court, you must have had your license for at least three years and not have had any moving violations during that three year time period.
